Peter W. Likins

Peter Likins is President Emeritus of the University of Arizona and former president of Lehigh University. He was educated at Stanford and MIT, served on the engineering faculty at UCLA and was dean of engineering and then provost at Columbia.

Although he published three engineering textbooks during his faculty years at UCLA and Columbia, he did not return to writing until he retired in 2006 at age seventy, turning then to the creative writing he most enjoys, publishing a family memoir and two novels, as noted below.
