Martha Hall Kelly is a novelist and native New Englander. Her debut novel "Lilac Girls" is based on the true story of Polish women imprisoned at Ravesnbruck Concentration Camp and an American philanthropist and former actress Caroline Ferriday brings them to the U.S. after the war.

Among the characters are a woman living in Los Alamos during the development of the atomic bomb, two young women from the Polish Resistance held at Ravensbruck, twin sisters who are subjects in Mengele’s twins study at Auschwitz, and female doctors at the concentration camps. New perspectives on the subject of World War II.
