Dan Hampton

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Dan Hampton is a veteran of 151 combat missions flown in the Iraq War, Kosovo conflict and first Gulf War; he was awarded four Distinguished Flying Crosses with Valor, a Purple Heart, eight Air Medals with Valor and numerous other decorations. Colonel Hampton is a graduate of the elite USAF Fighter Weapons School, USN Top Gun School (TOGS) and USAF Special Operations School. Dan has lived in Germany, Spain, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and served as an exchange officer with the Egyptian Air Force.

Dan is a Distinguished Graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's of Architecture; he also holds a Master's of Aeronautics, and is currently a master's candidate at Dartmouth. A licensed commercial pilot and Divemaster, he belongs to the U.S. Fencing Association and the U.S. Polo Federation.

A frequent guest analyst on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC discussing foreign affairs, military, aviation and counter terrorism issues, Dan has been a guest of Anderson Cooper 360, Hannity, Huckabee, The Cycle and Bill O'Reilly. In high demand as a public/inspirational speaker, he can be contracted through Royce Carlton/ICM in New York.

Dan's work has been published in Time Magazine, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Parade, Newsday and Forbes, among others. He has been featured on The History Channel, A&E, CPSAN, the BBC and Breitling's Anthem. Author of the New York Times and international best-sellers “Viper Pilot,” “Lords of the Sky” and "The Hunter Killers," he has also published a novel, “The Mercenary.”

His latest book is "The Flight: Charles Lindbergh's Daring and Immortal 1927 Transatlantic Crossing."
