Linnea Hartsuyker has an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU and a BS in Material Science and Engineering from Cornell University. She grew up in the middle of hundreds of acres of forest outside Ithaca.
In her teens, Linnea's family embarked on a project to trace their ancestry and identify their living relatives. Through church records in Sweden and Norway, they found that Harald Fairhair (Harfagr), the first king of Norway is one of their ancestors. Those explorations gave her the seeds of her first novel, "The Half-Drowned King."
She is a full time writer of historical fiction living in New York City with her husband.
