Dr. Bonnie Lyon

Known as “The Obstacle Tamer,” Dr. Bonnie Lyon is a counselor, author and speaker who has helped thousands to heal their emotional pain and live their best life. She lives by the motto: “Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.”

Dr. Bonnie holds a doctorate in the field of psychology and is a licensed counselor in the State of California. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from BYU and completed master’s-level training in clinical psychology.

Dr. Bonnie lost her sight in her 20s, but that hasn’t stopped her from creating a unique vision of healing. As a counselor, she works with individuals, couples and groups in private practice. Her unique methods allow people to overcome their traumas and painful episodes of the past, as well as to heal their anxiety, depression, addiction and other feelings and behaviors that hold them back.

She is the author of the book "Through the Tunnel: Unlock the Pain of Your Past and Find the Courage to Grow Up, Not Just Old," a guide to finally healing one’s emotional pain, published by Dudley Court Press. Filled with practical advice and enlightening stories from some of Dr. Bonnie’s clients, "Through the Tunnel" shows readers what they need to know to become their own coach and their own support to find true healing and peace of mind.

Dr. Bonnie hosted her own radio talk show Picking Up the Pieces and has been a guest on several national radio talk shows.

She also holds regular workshops and classes on topics like love, relationships, communication, stress and depression using a gentle and humorous presentation style.

Dr. Bonnie currently lives in Paso Robles, California where she enjoys volunteering with Quota International. The organization serves disadvantaged populations around the world, including the deaf and speech impaired.
