Heather Hansen is an award-winning author and journalist who writes and speaks on topics at the intersection of people, places and science. Her journalism has appeared in newspapers and magazines from San Francisco to Johannesburg. She is the author of "Wildfire: On the Front Lines with Station 8" and "Prophets and Moguls, Rangers and Rogues, Bison and Bears: 100 Years of the National Park Service." Hansen regularly seeks solitude near her home in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Her current book is "Solitude: The Science and Power of Being Alone."
