Heather C. Scott

Heather C. Scott is a mother of three and a former high school science teacher. She brings her love of books and reading into the classroom to spark the interest of pre-service teachers. In addition, she works in a variety of classrooms using literature to generate questions that drive students to “find out more!" Her own children, 15, 13 and 6, are book-lovers and avid readers and are on the road to lifelong learning!

Scheduled events:
Sharing and Writing Poetry with Children
Poetry can prompt social justice, help students to find passionate voices, and can bring language and literacy skills into content areas classrooms. The presenters will share literature in poetic formats and classroom-ready poetry ideas and strategies for a variety of grades and content areas.
