Stephen J. Pyne is the author of "Between Two Fires" and a series of regional fire surveys titled "To the Last Smoke." He is a Regent’s Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University. His recent books include "Voyager: Exploration, Space, and the Third Great Age of Discovery," The Last Lost World," and "Fire: Nature and Culture."

Wildfire in Focus
In June of 2013 a single bolt of lighting ignited a tragic wildfire in the Arizona mountains. A journalist and a wildfire expert will discuss the western fire scene and how we understand it, including its sometimes tragic costs such as the deaths of 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots in the Yarnell Hill fire.
