
Melani (Mele) Martinez is a writer and educator from Tucson, whose work explores the intersections of memory and cultural identity. Her debut memoir, "The Molino," is a 2025 Southwest Book of the Year and Int'l Latino Book Award honorable mention. As an associate professor of practice in the University of Arizona’s Writing programs and the Borderlands Teaching Lead for Project ADELANTE, she designs courses that engage history, folklore, poetics, and traditional foodways.
