Tucson Festival of Books

David Litt

David Litt is the former senior speechwriter for President Barack Obama. He has been described as the comic muse for the president for his work on White House Correspondents’ Dinner monologues. He has also written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and Cosmopolitan. As an author, Litt released "Thanks, Obama" in 2018 and, most recently, "It's Only Drowning." He and his wife divide their time between Washington and Asbury Park, New Jersey. This is his first visit to the Festival.

Awards: Thurber Award for American Humor (semi-finalist) - not sure if that counts!
