Amy Ludwig VanDerwater is an author of children's books, including "Forest Has a Song," "Every Day Birds," "Read! Read! Read!," "With My Hands," "Dreaming of You" and "Write! Write! Write!" as well as the professional book, "Poems Are Teachers: How Studying Poetry Strengthens Writing in All Genres." A graduate of Teachers College of Columbia University, a former fifth grade teacher and writing teacher of 20 years, Ludwig VanDerwater leads school assemblies, offers writing workshops for all ages and speaks frequently at conferences. You can find her at home in Western New York or online at her popular classroom blog, The Poem Farm.
