Kathryn McGuire

Kathryn McGuire is an architect practicing in Tucson, Ariz. She is a co-author of "Powerhouse: The Life and Work of Judith Chafee." Many details in this book are written from McGuire’s experiences first as a student, then as an employee and friend of Judith Chafee for more than 20 years until 1998. Starting as an intern, then project manager and associate, McGuire worked with clients, engineers and other advisors. The work was challenging and so was Chafee. McGuire’s own practice is still based on many of the principles experienced in the Chafee studio, including dedication to desert-adapted building strategies and regional modern architecture.
