Ellen McGarrahan is a private detective and a writer. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale and spent 10 years as a reporter at newspapers in New York City, Miami and San Francisco before accidentally finding her calling as a private eye. In 2000, she founded her own detective agency and for two decades has specialized in complex cases, including death row investigations. Her first book, "Two Truths and a Lie – a memoir of guilt, innocence, and Florida’s electric chair," was published by Random House in February 2021.
