Making a Difference: Small Acts/Big Impact
In these real-life stories, people have an impact on their communities by having the courage to act in ways that make a difference. Those actions might involve nature, such as saving bees from the burning rooftop of Notre-Dame or protecting the desert through a national park, or involve an artist deciding to paint everyday working-class lives. Each of these book creators also make a difference by selecting the stories they tell as another form of action.

Pursuing the Many Pathways to Publication
Many pathways to publication exist beyond the major presses that dominate the field, including children's magazines, blogs, on-line venues, small presses, and self-publication. A panel of authors will share the venues they have pursued for publication.
