Kathryn Gabriel Loving published her first nonfiction book, "Roads to Center Place," in 1991 toward the end of the industry's heyday when most readers paid full price at their choice of many brick-and-mortar stores. After publishing five more historical books through seven publishers during the digital revolution, and experiencing mergers, bankruptcies, and editorial attrition right along with them, she decided to self-publish her novels. Her first novel, "The Logos of Soul," was a finalist in the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. "A Day in Eternity" was also a finalist in 2017. Her nonfiction book (under Kathryn Gabriel), "Marietta Wetherill, Life with the Navajos of Chaco Canyon," is in it's third edition. She lives in New Mexico.
