As a professor of reading at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Janine Schall works with teachers and parents to help them use diverse children's and young adult literature in powerful ways.

Latinx Biographies and STEM: Creating Possibility
Locating quality nonfiction books that feature Latinx people in STEM careers remains difficult. This session highlights picturebooks biographies of Latinx people in science, engineering, and mathematics careers whose lives are role models of possibility, and provides ideas of how to use these books with children.
