Melissa writes fiction for adults, teens and children. Her books have been translated into 28 languages to date and been bestsellers in the U.S. (The New Yok Times, LA Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal) as well as various countries overseas. She is best known for the Wicked Lovely series for teens and "Bunny Roo, I Love You" for children. She lives in Arizona with her partner and children.

Magic & Intrigue: Monsters, Dragons and Ogres

Adventures into magical worlds pull readers into quests involving dragons, monsters, ogres, pirates and princesses. Melissa de la Cruz creates the fairytale-inspired world of Never After, while Arnee Flores introduces a princess who struggles to find her magical ability and Melissa Marr features a world where kids band with dragons and gargoyles to save their world.

Writing Poetry about Nature for Children

Two authors will describe how they use poetry in writing picture books about nature that engage readers. Melissa Marr is the author of "Wild Horses" about a herd of wild horses in the Salt River Valley in Arizona and Dianne White's most recent picture books focus on nature at night and listening to the sounds of nature.
