Kathryn Will (she/her/hers)


Kathryn Will is an associate professor of literacy at the University of Maine Farmington and the chair of NCBLA. Her current research examines literacy practices of future teachers and how their engagement with children’s and young adult literature impacts their attitudes about reading and book choices for their future classrooms.

Notable Books for K-8 Readers
This session will highlight award-winning books of fiction, nonfiction and poetry for children in grades K-8. The books will be presented by the NCBLA committee who selected these books due to their appealing format, enduring quality, focus on language and invitation for child response. The committee will share the books and suggest instructional strategies. Books will be available for browsing and a book list provided. The books will be given away at the end of the session to attendees.
