Margo Steines is a writer, a born and raised New Yorker, a journeyman ironworker, and parent to a small person. She is a creative coach and the author of the memoir in essays "Brutalities: A Love Story." Steines holds an MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Arizona and lives and writes in Tucson. Her work was named Notable in Best American Essays and has appeared in The Sun, Slate, The Guardian, Air Mail, Brevity, Off Assignment, and The New York Times (Modern Love).

Workshop: Writing Nonfiction Scenes
This workshop will offer a high-level introduction to the use of scenes in creative nonfiction. Together, we’ll enact sample scenes to experience what dialogue sounds like read aloud and what narrated movements look like in real time and space.
