Mark Pryor

Jean Orrico

Mark Pryor is a former newspaper reporter from England, a retired prosecutor with the Travis County District Attorney's Office in Austin, Texas, and now a partner at the criminal defense firm of Cofer & Connelly.

"Die Around Sundown" is the first in a new series of historical mysteries set in Paris during WWII and was published August of 2022 by St. Martin's/Minotaur. The sequel, "The Dark Edge of Night," was published in August of 2023, and the third is scheduled for publication in August of 2024.

Pryor is also the author of the Hugo Marston mystery series, set in Paris, London and Barcelona. The first in the series, "The Bookseller," was a Library Journal Debut of the Month and called "unputdownable" by Oprah.com. The series has been featured in The New York Times. Mark also wrote the highly-praised psychological thrillers "Hollow Man" and "Dominic."

As a seasoned prosecutor, he tried (and won!) multiple murder cases and appeared on CBS News's "48 Hours" and Discovery Channel's "Discovery ID: Cold Blood." He recently began appearing as a guest legal analyst on CourtTV.

In his spare time, which is hardly any, Pryor enjoys soccer, his two dogs and spending time with his wife and three teenage children.
