Barry Lehman is a retired pastor, counselor, author and trumpet player. He was born and raised between the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and Pine Creek in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, the older of Harold and Dora’s two sons. He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1966, 42 years after Buddy. He attended Lehigh University (BA) and Moravian Theological Seminary (MDiv) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. As a pastor in the Moravian Church, he served congregations in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Barry received his Doctor of Ministry in pastoral care and counseling from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and his certification and license as a substance use disorder counselor in 1993. He has worked as a counselor in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He has worked at Mayo Clinic Addictions Services in Rochester, MN, since 2007. He is married to Valerie, also a retired Moravian pastor, and lives in Rochester, MN. They have an adult daughter. He is also the author of books on following a path of mastery in long-term addiction recovery, mastery as the foundation for music and a life in tune, and a collection of Christmas stories.
