Emilie Robert Wong

Emilie Robert Wong is an associate editor at Enchanted Lion, where she edits many works in translation. With Karin Snelson, she co-translated French picture books "You Can’t Kill Snow White" (shortlisted for the Global Literature in Libraries Initiative's Translated YA Book Prize) and "At the Drop of a Cat" (a Kirkus Best Book of 2023 and a NYPL Best Children's Book of 2023).

The Intricate and Magical Design of an International Picturebook/Graphic Novel
The Enchanted Lion editors of "The Magicians," a graphic-novel-art book-fantasy adventure created by French artist Blexbolex, talk about the highly intentional design and unusual construction of this book that is a cross between a picturebook and a graphic novel. The construction includes Japanese binding, delicate comic-book paper, copper foil endpapers, and silkscreen-inspired Pantone ink layers.They will also share translation issues in this book about magic, creativity, imagination, and mystery.
