Katie Evans (She/her)


Katie Evans is a children's book author with works spanning picture book to young adult.  Her debut middle grade fiction series, the Aunt Claire's Pet Care series, was released by Fawkes Press in 2023. Her picture book debut, "Broccoli is Trying to Kill Me," will be released by Holiday House in 2026. Katie's work has been included in a number of anthologies. Katie was formerly a newspaper and magazine reporter with a publication history that includes breaking news and feature stories.

Katie is a member of SCBWI and the Authors' Guild. She is a former participant in the 12x12 picture book writing program. Katie has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications, with minors in business and political science, and a master’s degree in public policy administration. In her full-time career, she manages strategic communications and public outreach. She has extensive experience in public speaking, press interviews and earned and paid media.

Katie is a mother and a volunteer in both the classroom and in youth sports organizations. She lives in Queen Creek, AZ.
