Sequoia Rudolph
Rosa Armijo-PembleSequoia Rudolph drew inspiration for her novel, "In Time Out," from her years of teaching special education students on the island of Maui, Hawaii. Her twenty-five year career spanned an extrodinary range, from three-year-old preschoolers with developmental delays to twenty-two-year-old incarcerated young adults. These experiences lend authenticity and heart to her storytelling.
She is a U.S. Navy veteran, mom to three grown-children, and an avid traveler. Sequoia has resided in eleven states and collected stories from each of them. She currently lives in New Mexico with Sandy and Foxy, two little lost dogs who found their forever home with her.

Cynthia Ferguson arrives in Paradise hoping to make a difference—only to find a school system stretched thin, an unsympathetic principal, and students whose challenges run deeper than their files reveal.
As she navigates fierce parent conferences and leans on the small victories that keep her going, Cynthia discovers unexpected courage, connection, and compassion.
Authentic, colorful, and funny, this story honors the everyday heroes in special education classrooms and the students whose lives they help shape along the way. More/less
