Chris Berdik (he/him)


Chris Berdik is a freelance science and education journalist who has written for The New York Times, Wired, and other publications. Formerly, he was a staff editor at The Atlantic and the senior writer for Boston University, covering science and medicine. He has won grants from the Pulitzer Center and the National Association of Science Writers. His first book, "Mind Over Mind," explored the placebo effect in medical and nonmedical contexts. His latest book is "Clamor: How Noise Took Over the World—and How We Can Take It Back."
