Dr. Leia Barrett is a children's book author based out of Kansas City. For more than a decade she worked in the nonprofit sector, first as a Director of Education for the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra where she created family programming for more than 65,000 families annually. Today she uses her nonprofit experience to educate, advocate, and fundraise for rescues and shelters. Her newest book, "The Odd Dog," has received several accolades, including being named a finalist for the Wishing Shelf Awards, a second place IPPY Award and a Kirkus Star.
