
Tom Myers has worked at Grand Canyon and in northern Arizona as a physician since 1990. He serves as local medical advisor for Grand Canyon National Park. A dedicated explorer of the Canyon backcountry since his late teens, he also works as a hiking and river guide within the Canyon. He has authored or co-authored five Canyon-related books, including National Outdoor Book Award winner Over the Edge: Death in Grand Canyon. Referred to as "Mr. Grand Canyon" by New York Times best selling author, Kevin Fedarko, Myers's newest book, "The Grandest Trek" chronicles the history of hiking of the length of the Grand Canyon, alongside his own journey with his son, Weston.
