Tucson Festival of Books

Pamela Kleibrink Thompson

Lance Thompson

Pamela Kleibrink Thompson combined her background in animation on The Simpsons and her coaching career into her award-winning picture book "The Horse Who Wanted to Fly." Based on the true story of the birth of motion pictures, the book is an uplifting story about believing in yourself. She hopes it will inspire and empower readers to follow their dreams. "The Horse Who Wanted to Fly" earned a Will Rogers Gold Medallion Award, a Winnie Award from the Equus Film and Arts Festival and is a finalist in the Spur Awards from the Western Writers of America.
