Richard Siken is a poet and painter who was a finalist for last year's National Book Award with "I Do Know Some Things." His first book, "Crush" was selected by Louise Glück for the 2004 Yale Series of Younger Poets prize, won a Lambda Literary Award and a Thom Gunn Award, and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Siken is a recipient of fellowships from Lannan Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. He lives in Tucson.

How can we talk about trauma? Laura Da' and Richard Siken examine the aftermath of illness, delving into devastation, healing, loss, and limitation. Through deeply personal narratives and precise writing about the body, these poets explore how we might begin to talk about our altered lives.
