
River Selby is the author of "Hotshot: A Life on Fire," dealing with life as a firefighter. They are currently a Kingsbury and Legacy Fellow at Florida State University, where they are pursuing their Ph.D. in Nonfiction with an emphasis in postcolonial histories. They hold an MFA in fiction and a BA in English and Textual Studies from Syracuse University, where they served as a remembrance scholar Their work has been published in Vox, High Country News, Bellevue Literary Review, and the New Ohio Review. They live in the Pacific Northwest.
