Kerrie Ann Cázares


Kerrie Ann Cázares, who speaks and writes Tohono O’odham, grew up in Orland Park, Illinois. Alongside her husband, she writes and illustrates books, language coloring books, and educational materials to support O’odham language learning. She enjoys sewing, painting, and creating digital art. She and her husband Husi live in Marana, Arizona, close to many of their seven children and three granddaughters. She has just finished four board books for preschool and is working on a cultural alphabet book in Tohono O’odham/English.

Tohono O'odham Culture and Life
The author, illustrator, and publisher of two picture books about everyday life for Tohono O'odham children share their books and the story behind their efforts to publish these books as a way to preserve O'odham culture, history and language. In addition, they share future projects.
