Marie LeJeune (she/her/hers)

Marie LeJeune currently serves as the Associate Dean of teacher education at Western Oregon University; she is a former language arts teacher and reading specialist and worked in public schools in Washington and Nevada for 12 years. She co-teaches a book club class at a local alternative high school and is passionate about supporting readers of all ages. She has served on the Orbis Pictus Committee, the Walden Committee, Notable Children’s Book Committee and recently chaired the Batchelder Award.

Resources to Grow Life Long Readers at Home and in Classrooms

A common characteristic of lifelong readers is that they have a reading plan for what to read next. This session features online resources, award lists and strategies to support and grow readers who build "to read" lists and plans so teachers and families can find great books, authors, and community resources, such as Book Clubs and Bookstagrams. Leave with a list of resources and recommendations to use with the children in your life.

Teen Worlds: A Carousel of Young Adult Authors

Meet a bunch of YA authors in 60 minutes and enter teen worlds of fantasy, mystery and complicated relationships. Each author will be seated at a table to talk with a small group about their newest book. Every eight minutes the authors will rotate to a new table in our version of author speed-dating.
