Clifford E. Trafzer

Clifford E. Trafzer is a distinguished professor of history and Rupert Costo Chair in American Indian affairs at the University of California, Riverside. Since the 1980s, he has researched the history of Southern California Indians, visiting reservations and learning from their people. He served on the California Native American Heritage Commission, Board of Native American Land Conservancy and University of California President’s Native American Council. He is the author of numerous books, including "Strong Hearts and Healing Hands: Southern California Indians and Field Nurses, 1920-1950."
