Explore how material choices help to tell a story and the qualities of a medium align or contrast with a story to create meaning. Ellen Heck uses a variety of materials for different projects. Her book, "Sunflower Seeds," uses heavily-applied oils on brown paper and "A is for Bee" is illustrated on scratchboard. Ellen will give a demo and engage participants in a scratchboard studio.
