So many fantasy stories are set in mountains or forests or coastal cities. Liz Kerin and Moses Ose Utomi chose the path less traveled and set their books in deserts. So why a desert setting? What unique advantages or disadvantages are there to setting a fantasy story in a desert? Why aren't more stories set in deserts?
