CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. A CASA is a volunteer who advocates for the best interest of a foster child. Children enter the foster care system through no fault of their own. A CASA builds a positive connection with the child and is often the one person who remains consistent in that child's life during their time in foster care. There are 1,500 children in foster care in Pima County alone. It is an ongoing effort to recruit more volunteers to support the goal of having an advocate for every child in the Pima County foster care system.
