The Tucson Festival of Books welcomes performers of all types to become part of the 2018 Tucson Festival of Books. The Festival will take place on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11 on the University of Arizona campus. We are accepting applications from acts of all types that are interested in performing on one of our outdoor entertainment stages.
Entertainment applications are being accepted through 5pm November 30, 2017.
Entertainers who perform are not compensated by the Festival; however, we will publish a schedule of entertainment on our website, in the Arizona Daily Star and via mobile and social media applications related to the event. During the scheduled performance, a group is welcome to provide promotional materials and sell CD's or other items related to the performance (all business licensing and tax collection / remittance are the responsibility of the seller). Performers are encouraged to promote their performance(s) through their own PR and social media sites.
There are over 60 spaces available for entertainment during Festival weekend. Venue size varies from large stages, suitable for multi-piece groups, to one- or two-person street entertainment sites. The Entertainment Committee will review all applications and determine the day, time and location of performances during the Festival. The decision of the committee is final. Each group will be provided with confirmation of their status in mid-November. An entertainment agreement will be issued to groups being invited to perform and all deadlines must be met in order to confirm participation.
