Schedule and Author Visit-- Free Author Appearance
Tucson is fortunate to host one of the top book festivals in the country. The Tucson Festival of Books has an outstanding list of award-winning authors and illustrators who are willing to visit schools as part of their appearance at the festival. You have a wonderful opportunity to host an award-winning author or illustrator to interact with students before or after the festival.
• Students can hear authors and illustrators share their craft.
• Authors are not charging for their appearances.
• Schools order books for book signings for students, parents and faculty.
• School Presentation Packets are available.
• Teacher workshops and family night options are available for some authors.
• Use your tax credit, Title 1 or PTA funds.

Note there are several authors whose extra night of hotel is the school’s responsibility (except for Title 1 schools); the rest are covered by their publicist. Schools do need to sell the author’s books as part of the author visit.
NOTE: Authors may be available on a different date, so make a proposal if you want a different date.
