Birdie Stark

Mike Stark is the author of "Starlings: The Curious Odyssey of a Most Hated Bird," which chronicles our love-hate relationship with this pesky introduced bird. He is a former environmental reporter for the Associated Press and newspapers around the West. His previous nonfiction book, "Chasing the Ghost Bear," won the 2023 New Mexico-Arizona Book Award. He lives in Tucson, Arizona, and is the creative director for the Center for Biological Diversity.
