Bill Carter is the screenwriter and executive producer of the documentary “Kiss the Future,” produced by Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Sarah Anthony, based on Carter’s book "Fools Rush In." It has been nominated for a Writer's Guild Award for best documentary screenplay for 2024. He is the award-winning documentary filmmaker of Miss Sarajevo, produced by Bono and Bill Carter. He has made eight short documentary films for MIT global programs including a short film on how Botswana is using diamonds to create a blueprint on how Sub-Saharan Africa economies can be more self-sustaining. Author of three books, including "Fools Rush In," "Red Summer," and "Boom, Bust, Boom," all are critically acclaimed journalistic memoirs. Carter is also professor of practice for film production at Northern Arizona University. In 2009 he was recognized with honorary citizenship to the City of Sarajevo.
Awards: My film Miss Sarajevo won the International Monitor Award and the Golden Hugo award and has been played in dozens of countries around the world. Currently Kiss the Future, which is based on my book Fool's Rush In is streaming on Paramount Plus. I am the screenwriter and an executive producer as well.
