A Rhode Island native, Ann Hood spent high school modeling for the Jordan Marsh department store. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island, she was a flight attendant for TWA. She wrote her first novel, "Somewhere Off the Coast of Maine," on international flights and on the subway out to JFK. Now an award-winning author of 20 books, she has written for The New York Times, The Paris Review, O, Bon Appetit, Tin House, The Atlantic Monthly and Real Simple. Her new books are “Life’s Short, Talk Fast,” about the Gilmore Girls, and the novel “The Stolen Child.”
