
Suzanne Uttaro Samuels writes historical fiction and essays about immigrant women, the memories they carry, and the quiet acts of defiance that shape their families. Her debut novel, "Seeds of the Pomegranate," is a finalist for the Independent Author Network’s Best Book in Literary Fiction and longlisted for the Chanticleer Goethe Award for 20th-century historical fiction. She is working on "The Orphans’ Wheel," about the tumultuous 19th-century Italian wars of independence.
