Tucson Festival of Books Training - CT Orientation & Walk-Through

This is a friendly reminder that the full Children/Teen Volunteer Orientation will take place on Saturday, March XXX, beginning at 8:30 am.

WHAT:

PART 1 > Festival Walk-Through focusing on Festival layout and activities
PART 2 > CT Orientation Breakout for specific training on your Children/Teen role
- Immediately following the walk-through > 10:00am - 11:30 a.m
- UofA Campus, College of Education Building (1430 E. Second Street)
  World of Words, 4th Floor, Room 453 UA Campus Map

WHEN: SATURDAY, MARCH XXX beginning at 8:30 am. Reserve approximately 1½ hours for Part 1.

WHERE: Meet at the north entrance to the 'Canyon', the large walkway between the UA BookStore & Student Union Building (main level)--here is a map of campus.

PARKING: NEED TO UPDATE THIS SECTION. See the 03/02/2024 Walk-Through Parking Map for details on where to park (and not park).

Recommended Parking: Lot 3039 or Lot 4052
Alternative Parking: any surface lot that IS NOT RESERVED for basketball patrons!
- NOTE: The 2nd Street Garage WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE for the March 2, 2024 walk-through or during the Festival!
Also, for this walk-through, volunteers may park in the LDS church lot (not on walk-through parking map), which is on the northeast corner 2nd and Mountain Ave, just north of the 2nd Street Garage. Push the button to enter.

TIPS FOR MAKING THE MOST OF THE WALK-THROUGHS:

Install the free TFOB app before you arrive. We will cover use of the app during the Walk-Through.
- For Android (Google Play store) / For iPhone (iTunes Store)
View the 2025 Walk-Through Map with QR codes before you arrive. We will have copies available, but you are welcome to print.
- Think about using the QR codes to preload some of the resourses on your phone before you arrive.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE MARCH XXX WALK-THROUGH:

You are welcome to attend the Walk-Through on Sunday, March XXX.
There will be a prepresentatiave of the Children Teen Committee present to answer questions, however, there will be no Children Teen Orientiation following this alternate Walk-through.
IF UNABLE TO ATTEND EITHER WALK-THROUGH, please study the above resources before arriving for your volunteer shift.

If it becomes apparent that you will not be able to fulfill your volunteer commitment, please let us know ASAP so that we can fill vacancies.
