Monica Brown is a Spanish and English-language author of biographies and picture books. Her work includes the Lola Levine chapter book series and picturebooks like "Waiting for the Biblioburro" and "Pablo Neruda: Poet of the People."  Brown's books have received awards like the Pura Belpré Honors, Américas Awards, NCTE Orbis Pictus Honor for Nonfiction and The Christopher Award, among others. Her book, "Small Room, Big Dreams: The Journey of Julián and Joaquin Castro," is forthcoming in spring 2021 and "Sharuko: el arqueólogo Peruano/Peruvian Archaeologist" was published in fall 2020.
