Teresa H. Janssen’s essays and short fiction have appeared in a variety of anthologies and journals, including Zyzzyva, Catamaran, and L.A. Review. Her novel, "The Ways of Water," was inspired by her grandmother's young life in the early 1900's Southwest. It was awarded the Western Heritage Center Wrangler Award for Outstanding Western Novel of 2023, the 2024 Will Rogers Gold Medallion, and an IPPY Silver for Mountain-West fiction. She lives on Washington state’s Olympic Peninsula where she hikes, tends a small orchard and writes, exploring themes pertaining to the web of family, the environment, travel, language and spiritual topics.
